Week 13 of our series in Jeremiah. We have traced this coming crisis in Jeremiah, and studied the terrible breaking of the crisis, but even as the crisis grew stronger and closer a second theme emerged - one of HOPE - that God would redeem Israel. Today we continue to see the crisis and hope but we distill that hope down to its essence. The hope of the Lord goes beyond waiting for better days and the assurance it's all going to be okay in the end, the hope of the Lord is a person - the Lord Jesus Christ, the son of David who would redeem and restore all that was lost.

Week 12 of our series in Jeremiah. Every generation claims to be searching for truth. In Jeremiah 42 the survivors of the destruction of Jerusalem - the remnant of Israel - have a clear choice to make and show they couldn't handle the truth. Today we relate our own choice of how we respond to the truth, following what God says or choosing our own path, leads to life in Christ or to death.

Week 7 of our series in Jeremiah. Today we look at a critical time in the life of Jeremiah and in the history of Judah. This fourth year of Jehoiakim is the tipping point, or dividing line, from Jeremiah's message of "repent - before it's too late!" to it actually being too late. Join us as we look back to the fourth year and see what life was like and what it means for us today.

Week 6 of our series in Jeremiah. Jeremiah is a book about choices; this week we look at the choice before Judah - to follow the True God or the worship of idols. Idols don't give what they promise but God gives what He promises and more.

Week 5 of our series in Jeremiah. Today we look at the times before and after Jeremiah surrounding the first wave of Judean captives (including Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) and see how God is in control and uses all the world as He wishes. He makes promises and keeps His Word. We alone are responsible for how we choose to respond to the crisis we experience.

Week 4 of our series in Jeremiah. There is a great gulf between boasting in self sufficiency and boasting in God; scripture from so long ago reads similar to what it would be in today's headlines - the idea that accomplishments are to be celebrated as our own rather than credited to God. This passage in Jeremiah is a striking example of the contrast between a man-centered worldview and one that is God-centered.
