We, like blind Bartimaeus, are all spiritual beggars. In this message we consider how Bartimaeus can be an example to us with his faith and experience as Jesus restored his vision. As we approach 2020 there are several goals we can adopt from this event in God's Word and allow the merciful healing of Jesus to bind our broken spirits.

There is a big picture in God's timeline, one that follows the movement and process of God's revelation in the Bible and directs us to His Son, Jesus Christ. And as we respond to God's plan to bring us to himself through His Son we learn about our need to Sit in His presence, Walk in His confidence, and Stand strong against the enemy. Controlling the words out our mouths is essential. Too often we, or those around us, cut others down with criticism or sarcastic comments in an attempt to build ourselves up and make us feel better about ourselves. We look at Ephesians chapter 4 to see what the Apostle Paul has to say on the subject - that our words should GIVE GRACE TO THOSE WHO HEAR. This is the way of Jesus, speaking for the benefit of others to give and bring GRACE to the hearer. Our speaker also speaks directly to Fathers and Mothers with admonishment and challenge for everyday life.

Today, the world does the same, it has built digital superhighways to advance its principles. How did Peter and his fellow Apostles respond to their challenge and more importantly, what did God do with it?
